Do Not Despise Prophecies!

• By Gideon Adegunle

Do not despise prophecies. – 1 Thessalonians 5:20

If you are familiar with the ministry and life of Jesus, you know that He is the fulfillment of long-time prophecy. Various prophets spoke of His mission and birth.

Paul, in 1 Corinthians 14:1, advises all to prophesy. Speak and speak again… When it seems too much and too real to believe, it shows that only faith can bring it to pass. Don’t belittle or shut down prophecies.

When men say there is a casting down, you will SAY there is a lifting up.
– Job 22:29

I will SAY of the Lord, ‘He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.’
– Psalm 91:2

And God said, ‘Let there be light,’ and there was light.
– Genesis 1:3

If you shall SAY to this mountain, ‘Be removed and cast into the sea,’ it will be done.
– Mark 11:23

The Power of Your Words

The devil wants to shut your mouth so that you use it to complain and blame yourself and others. Many see things fall apart around them but don’t realize they spoke it into existence.

Prophecy is a spiritual decree sent into the future – either positive or negative.

Declare Over Your Life

Speak now the things you know God has willed for you!

Confession of Faith:

  • I enjoy increase, good health, and safety.
  • I am not stranded.
  • When I preach, souls are won to the Kingdom and lives are transformed into the image of God.
  • I don’t have low self-esteem.
  • I carry grace and power.

There is more to speak as the Spirit gives you utterance.

Final Reminder

God didn’t just imagine light – He spoke it into being.
Make wise use of your words.

Life and death are in the power of the tongue.
(Proverbs 18:21)

Praying with an Unsettled Mind

Scripture shows us that stillness is not optional but it is foundational. Prayer is not only about speaking; it is about being present, attentive, and aligned. Praying with an unsettled mind does not make prayer invalid, but it limits its effectiveness, depth, and clarity. God is always ready to engage, but the believer must learn to align the inner life.

Distracted Decisions: When Focus Is Lost in the Middle of Direction

Divine focus sustains supernatural encounters, yet most failures don’t begin at the start they happen in the middle, when attention quietly shifts and one distracted decision changes everything.
