For what great nation is there that has God so near to it, as the Lord our God is to us whenever we call on Him?
Deuteronomy 4:7
In the physical realm, the closest substance to every living being whether human, animal, or plant is air. Though invisible, air is essential to life.
In a similar but far greater sense, the spirit is the first realm the unseen reality where the operations of faith, judgment, and divine interaction take place.
The spiritual realm is more populated and more active than the physical one. Scripture speaks of innumerable angels and the spirits of just men made perfect (Hebrews 12:22–23). This reminds us that what we see in the natural is only a shadow of what exists in the Spirit.

God is not just a being He is a realm.
He is a place. A hiding place. Closer than air. Closer than our thoughts.
In Him we live, and move, and have our being.
Acts 17:28
